Bio:
Paul Duffen is Chief Executive Officer of Newsplayer Group plc (NPG). NPG, a new media company, exploits rights to television and cinema content, using interactive technology, which it markets globally across B2B, B2E and B2C sectors. NPG’s content portfolio includes the news archives of ITN and Reuters, material from Columbia Sports News, Castle Films and Universal News as well as the landmark interviews conducted by Sir David Frost over the past 40 years and the Passport International Productions archive featuring biographies of hundreds of Hollywood stars.
Paul started his career with Procter & Gamble in a sales and marketing role and subsequently joined distribution company P J Holloway (Sales) Ltd (1981 to 1988), where he was appointed Marketing Director and played a key role in the sale of the business in 1985 to Browne and Tawse plc. He has since held the position of Managing Director of two private companies and started his own consultancy business in 1993. In 1998 he joined forces with NPG co-founder Barry Llewellyn to concentrate on the broadcasting and Internet sectors.
In October 1999 Paul co-founded NPG and led the successful flotation of the company on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange in May 2000. He remains responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for the Group and overseeing all aspects of the business. He is based at the Head Office in London.
